Hello, if anyone reads this... It's such a shame that this forum seems to be so deserted. Hope someone really interested will turn up at some point.
I'm a member of a Latin forum which is quite alive (discussions, students coming to ask for help, translation requests Latin-English and English-Latin...), even though the language is dead. Why does it have to be different for Old English? It doesn't have the "prestige" of Latin, maybe... But still!
Anyway, you have here someone passionate for languages, especially dead ones. I know Latin very well, I am an almost professional translator and tutor (I say "almost" because I don't get enough money with it to make a living). I started Old English later; I know it rather well now but I'm frustrated by the fact that I can't share this interest with others as much as I do with Latin, due to the apparent scarcity of people interested. I am also currently learning Attic Greek. My mother tongue is French.
... that's all. Not much to say about me, and I'm maybe just talking alone here.

Hi) I have been searching for some community or a forum where I can find people interested in Old Elnglish. So I found only this desolate place I am a student of lingustics and Eglish is my major language so I had the course of Old Elnglish last year. I found it quite interesting and proceeded with digging into it, though we don't have much literature in or about it here (in Russia). I know OE quite well and sometimes I help students who have troubles with it. It would be nice if someone else will find this forum and ask for help or share his thoughts or expirience in Old English. I think it would be awesome.
